Just Breathe

Well, this is it! We are heading to the Big Apple (in July).  Not sure exactly what that means, per say, but I am excited to find out.  The questions begin: Manhattan or Brooklyn; high rise or brownstone; rent or sell; East side or West side.  How do we choose? How can we see in the future? Well, I've found a few good websites to help get the party started:

Streeteasy and Naked Apartments

The always fun task of searching and looking into other peoples' homes and imagining yourself there!  Why is it so exhilarating to glance into those empty apartments and pretend to place your own furniture inside?

My, oh my, it is so much fun thinking about hypothetical life scenarios...  Back to the basics: how do people do laundry in New York? Where do they put their strollers? Do they have strollers? Do they have cars? How do they buy groceries? My mind has indeed began to wander thinking of all the possibilities.  All I know is that it is going to be very different, and very hard, and hopefully very rewarding!

Meanwhile, I have a first birthday party here in Houston to plan for my littlest, Miss Savannah.  How is she a year old already? We cannot let a move overshadow major life events.  With the dawning of Pinterest, no idea is left unturned or detail ignored at a one year old's birthday party.  From cake smashes, to hand crafted party decorations, we will do it all for this little ray of sunshine.  The biggest problem will be convincing her older sister that we are celebrating the younger's birthday.

Next stop: Manhattan vs. Brooklyn
